Combat
Right-click a creature to start the fight. Right-click that creature again to stop.
You attack every 2 seconds while the fight is on and you are close enough.
A sword, axe, or club has to be on a tile next to the creature. A bow, spear, or throwing star can be used from farther away, and the shot takes a moment to land. A wand does not miss.
Some creatures are ranged too. They can hit you from far away. You do not have to be standing next to them.
- Your swing connects from your accuracy. At 4, that is 60%. Each point above 4 adds 5%, up to 95%. If the check fails, you miss. No damage.
- A hit that only just connects is a glance. The damage is cut in half.
- Defence comes off before the hit is rolled. Armor comes off after.
- Say your attack is 10 and the creature has 3 defence. The attack used is 7. The hit lands between half of that and a little over it. Then the creature's armor comes off.
- Say that hit lands at 4, and the armor is 4. Armor takes the whole hit. That is a block. You see it, and no health is lost. If the armor had been 2, then 2 health would come off.
- A real hit shows the number, and that much health comes off.
- A creature hits you when its attack roll is over your armor. You take the amount over it, at least 1. A roll equal to your armor or under it misses. Your defence lowers that roll. A creature's swing is not cut in half.
- Other creatures standing next to you can make that hit harder.
